Why not focus on something interesting to say the least? Dubai's World Islands, following the successful completion of other offshore communities like the Palm Islands, was invented to be more ambitious, if not even larger then before. They say it's like owning a private property in the shape of even a country or continent, surrounded by the warm waters of the Persian Gulf- not to mention your other "worldly" neighbors. While Dubai’s vision of a 300-island floating world was thought to someday come to fruition, things aren't so great at the moment thanks to the ongoing world economic crisis. As of late summer 2009, only a single island has been developed and it belongs to Dubai’s ruling Sheik; “the rest looks like a pile of muck” according to a local realtor. With the property prices crashing by 50 to 75 percent, many of Dubai’s spectacular construction projects have been put on indefinite hold, if not even canceled outright. Not to mention some of the islands even sank back in 2011. It would be nice, however, to see what the finished product would look like from maybe an aerial view, maybe even land down there and experience it for ourselves. As of Iuly 2012, not too long ago so this could've been changed, the only island capable for living standards was the island of Lebanon. It was the only island to have been developed commercially, but was only used for private corporate events and public parties. The whole concept is kinda like a mini earth, on earth, which is interesting to say the least. Like I said before, the aerial view would make the islands look like a world map, hence the name World Islands.
