Volvo and the Future of Electric Cars

(Hakan Samuelsson CEO of Volvo)
Volvos start for the future of electric cars will begin with getting rid of diesel engines. Hakan Samuelsson recently stated in an interview that technology is needed to meet upcoming European carbon emission standards. The standers require that OEM's drop from 130g/km to just 95g/km in 2021, this starts with getting rid of diesel engines with a future in fully electric cars. The company also plans to limit nitrogen oxides. Nitrogen oxides have been linked to over 38,000 premature deaths in 2015 so decreasing the emission of this is a very big deal,
(Volvo C30 Electric)
The car is quite, safe, comfortable, and extremely economical. Volvo has taken a big step in making their cars as comical, with a completely electrically driven C30. It is still in the concept phase but can 150 kph on a single charge. Electric cars can also be incredibly cheap to run around 1/3 the cost of having to run a diesel car. Electric cars are the next big step in helping to save the environment and hopefully, other companies as big as Volvo are looking to move to electric cars.
The amount of gas that we emit from driving from point A to point B to drastically effect our environment. Cars increase the amount of fossil fuels that are burned putting to much Co2 in the atmosphere, Co2 acts as an inslator, when sunlight comes in the heat can dissipate because of it, making it just like a greenhouse hence calling it a greenhouse gas. Switching to electric cars will drastically reduce the amount of Co2 going into our atmosphere and making a safer world for everyone.
