Blood Batteries
So there are batteries out there and their usually power with stuff life acid and such. But did you know there are batteries that run on something else? Even blood? Well yea, there are batteries that do actually run on blood, and they can surprisingly increase efficiency in lithium oxygen batteries. This matters because efficient battery function, especially charge and recharge functions, are one of the key obstacles the the viability of lithium oxygen batteries as a replacement technology for lithium ion batteries that are currently the industry standard for rechargeable, especially from phones to cars. Scientists are interested interested in the possibilities of lithium oxygen batteries as a potential source for next generation energy - cars, homes etc - because they are able to store two to even 3 times as much energy as current lithium ion batteries. The value of using a blood battery is that seems to function as a better catalyst because of its ability to bind with oxygen, and prevent the build up of byproducts. When used in the lithium oxygen battery, blood dissolves into the battery's electrolytes and improves the efficiency of the chemical reaction that powers the battery.
